Orbital Estruturas - Structures in sustainable material for the world's leading architecture

The goal of Orbital Estruturas is to explore the vast potential and versatility of wood as a structural element par excellence, widely used and recognized around the world as sustainable material of forefront architecture. Acting in partnership with big names in Brazilian architecture, the company has been participating in important contemporary residential, commercial, industrial and leisure projects.

The structures of Orbital use the wood only in a sustainable way: native hardwoods from certified forest management areas and industrialized materials, such as laminated-glued and CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber), manufactured exclusively from reforestation woods.

The only truly renewable material found in nature, with its surface composed of accumulated solar energy, wood is the true sustainable building material for the 21st century. Photosynthesis permanently transforms solar energy into wood, making it an inexhaustible resource. Assimilating CO2 from the atmosphere, this process fixes the carbon, which makes up 50% of its mass, in the cells of the wood.

The production of 1 ton of concrete generates 1,000 kg of CO2. On the other hand, 1 ton of wood withdraws from the atmosphere from 1,500 to 2,000 kg. CO2 emissions due to cement production are 2.7 billion tons each year, and this emission grows at a rate of 2.5% per year.
